  1. Which drink is made from fermented grapes?
  2. What is the surname of the English actor and comedian who first played his usual hapless character Norman in the 1953 comedy Trouble in Store?

(Hint — look at the heading!)

Wine & Wisdom Evening is an immensely popular club event, originally devised by Rotarian Trevor Greening. This year's event will be in aid of Rotary Foundation — leading the fight to eradicate polio worldwide since 1985.

How it works

There are 9 rounds of 10 questions each on a variety of general knowledge topics, such as People & Places, History & Politics and Sports & Pastimes — one of which is an audio-visual round using the large-screen.

You also have the opportunity to play the “Joker” card on a round of your choosing — which will double your score for that round. You only get one Joker, so use it wisely!

Tickets

£60 per table of 6 (or £11 per head), which includes:

Note: The venue does not have a bar, but you are welcome to bring your own drinks and nibbles to help keep the old grey cells working. Glasses will be provided and water, tea and coffee will be available.
